By &#039;auditing&#039; you mean sitting in on a class.  It&#039;s better than nothing, but it&#039;s better to get your hands dirty.  Writers need to have social skills to survive in this business.  You have to network and pitch with confidence so taking an acting class certainly won&#039;t hurt.  Tell the instructor why you&#039;re there and he&#039;ll go easy on you.</description>

		<description>I hear you!  I once took a writing class and this guy insisted on skipping out on the character bios.  Said it was a waste of time.  But I&#039;ve been to script readings, even as an actor, and because the characters were lacking in depth, the actors had to invent the rest. Once the writer saw how much work the actors put into fleshing out her characters, I think she felt embarrassed &#039;coz they put in more work than she did and she knew it.  All her characters were cliches.  I guess if you can&#039;t bring yourself to take an acting class, maybe just audit one or even have a bunch of talented actors read your stuff.  Have them read one piece that&#039;s not so polished and another that is, see the difference.  It&#039;s pretty revealing.</description>
